Futsal and netball

Last chance to sign up for futsal and netball! Netball for Years 1 - 4 is different to proper netball, you can learn about it here if your child is keen to give it a go. 

We don’t have many girls signed up for Year 5 and 6 futsal and typically there’s quite a few who want to do it. We need to get the teams in at the start of next week so now is the time!

We raised $670 so thank you very much for your kind donations, thank you very much, thank you very very very much…etc (for those who can remember the days of Telethon in New Zealand)! 

Ridgway t-shirts

We seem to have run out of our spare t-shirts that we loan to people on the day of sporting events like the recent futsal tournament. If you have one lurking around at home (or one that your child has outgrown) we would love to have it back so we can continue to lend them out to people. 

Kiwifruit

We’ve been gifted two humongous boxes of kiwifruit, currently sitting in the office.  If you want any, please feel free to come and grab some. They’ll be outside. 

Te wiki o te reo Maōri

Next week is Māori Language Week. We are going to celebrate this in a number of ways. We have a word of the day, quizzes, and will be learning new pūrakau (stories) and waiata (song). 

Hell Pizza book challenge

We will be sending a Hell pizza book reading challenge home. We ask that you sign off on your child's reading log pizza wheel as they finish each book. The idea is that your child reads the book and discusses it a bit with you before signing off. Once the log has been completed they can bring it back to the library to receive their stamp. 

Boardbook Refresh

We are giving our boardbooks selection a refresh!  We are asking if any families happen to have any gently used board books they are no longer using and would like to donate to our library for special use and when we have visits from preschools. 

Weetbix TRYathlon - reminder

We officially have a school team registered for the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon on Sunday 28 February 2027! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️Thanks to mum extraordinaire Becky! If you’re registering your child, please join the school team when you register. That way we can make sure all the kids are together and supported for a great day of fun with their school mates! 🎉
