Story time at school for pre-schoolers

We are now running regular Storytime at School sessions to connect with preschool-aged tamariki in our local area. This programme is part of a wider focus on building connections across age groups in our school community, and aims to develop our links with local ECEs.

These sessions will run at 10am on a Wednesday morning once or twice a term, and will be a chance for preschool-age tamariki to visit our school library for a 30-minute session of stories and ukulele songs, led by the school librarian Lucy. You’re welcome to bring any preschool children along yourselves, or pass the information on to any friends with preschoolers. 

Parent volunteers - thank you! 

We love all our volunteers! There are those who help in the library, help out with Garden to Table, help out on Road Patrol, are part of the Board, read with the children and a whole lot of other things. Ngā mihi. 

This is a big thank you to those parents who ferried children to and from the Year 7 & 8 camp yesterday and today and to the uber legends who stayed the night!  Hope you’re looking forward to some well deserved sleep tonight! 

Salvation Army Food Drive

The Food Bank at the Salvation Army in Newtown is desperately low and needs more food.  They are finding that demand has been higher than ever over the last two months and we would like to help out. If you have any non-perishable food that you are happy to donate, please bring it into the office.  We will take it down to the Salvation Army on Friday 20 March, so please bring in your donations over the next couple of weeks.

• 16 - 18 March - Forest Lakes Camp for Year 5 & 6 

• 24 March - Kōtare trip to Te Papa

• 2 April - last day of the term and end of term hui 9.15am

• 3 April - Good Friday (school closed)

• 20 April - start of Term 2

• Noho marae for Year 5 - 8:  November 25 - 27th
