So much sickness! 

Sickness - egads! We’ve had about a quarter of the school off this week with the horrible flu / cold / gastro combo!   While we know attendance at school is very important, it is also very important to keep those poor sick kids at home so they can recover properly and hopefully not pass it on to those of us left standing! 

There has been a case of Scarlet Fever at Brooklyn School this week so please look out for a fever and sudden sore throat,  swollen lymph nodes in the neck and a headache. A red rash appears half a day to two days later.  Anyone with these symptoms should see a doctor (and obviously not come to school).

Futsal is back for Term 4 and it’s free, thanks to the Up Foundation.  The days are:

Year 1-4 Wednesdays

Year 5-6 Thursdays

Year 7-8 Mondays

Wheels’ Day

We’ve had all sorts of wheels today!  Scooters, normal bikes, rollerskates, drift bikes, skateboards and other unidentifiable things with wheels!

Community composting

Every Monday during our Garden to Table programme we add to our compost pile. We have had two terms of making compost and are fast becoming experts. We are now ready for you to join us on this adventure.

Coming to you soon will be a wheelie bin, situated outside the Mornington Rd gates. You can add your food scraps into this bin and we will turn it into black gold. Healthy soil = healthy food.

Please follow the guidelines so our tamariki continue to enjoy composting.
