He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles

A weird three day week!

Well, this definitely wasn’t the way any of us wanted to start Term 2, especially at the end of the holidays when you thought your job of entertaining your children every day was over!  We know a lot of our families have been affected by the crazy rain early Monday morning. Let us know if there’s any support any of you need from the school.

Change in swimming programme

Over the years we have had a lot of feedback from parents and children of Year 4 and 5s wanting to go to a different pool to Little Makos.  We have finally been able to secure a spot for all our Year 4 - 8s at Karori Pool.  This has meant a change of term for swimming, from Term 3 to Term 2, and this programme starts next Friday.

Our Year 1 - 3s will continue to go to Little Makos in Term 3.

A request from the office about early pick ups

When parents come to pick up their children a wee bit before the end of the day, it makes life difficult for our office staff, especially now Nicole is on her own! This can be one of the busiest times for the office as parents come in with questions and want to make payments etc. and when Nicole has to go and search for children, there is no one to answer all the questions.  Obviously, sometimes there are appointments or early sport games that require an early pick up, but if there isn’t a reason other than you’re just early, we’d love for you to wait in the playground. You never know, you might even make some new friends while you wait!

Left to Their Own Devices - 6 May at 7pm

Are you worried about your child and the online world?  We are bringing well-renowned Jo Robertson to our community for a presentation that will give you the tools and confidence to navigate the complex online world our children inhabit. SWIS have kindly agreed to host this in their hall as we are expecting way more people than could fit at our school, as it is open to all the schools in our local area.

You can register for a ticket (no cost) for this event here

Collecting Yummy Stickers

Please collect these and bring them into school so we can get more PE gear!

Raising Resilient Children - 26 May (16 spots left)

We have partnered with our local schools to bring Kathryn Berkett to speak to our community about Raising Resilient Children. This is an evening event from 6.30 - 8pm at Island Bay School.  Each school has been allocated 50 tickets. Please fill out this form if someone from your household would like to attend.  If all our spaces fill up, there will be a waitlist in case the other schools don’t use their allocation.
