Calendar Art

Tamariki have been working on some masterpieces in class. These can be turned into calendars, sketchpads, cards and more - great gifts for Christmas! A portion of your order will come back to the school as fundraising. Some whānau groups have posted pictures of their artwork on Hero, and below are some more examples of the beautiful pieces you can expect to see.🧑🏻‍🎨🤌

Aotearoa New Zealand Children's Book Week

Next week we are celebrating the amazing world of children's literature with our Book Week.

The main thing for parents to note is that on Thursday 20th August we will have a dress-up day where students may come dressed as a book character for the day. They should bring the book with them if possible. Please keep costumes appropriate for school with no replica weapons (cardboard pirate sword etc. is ok). There is a parade at 2:15pm and a few (modest) prizes for awesome costumes!

We are also running a Guess The Reader Challenge with cryptic photos and clues of readers young and old from our school community. Come and check it out next to the library next week. 

Storytime with Lucy

Feel free to pass this on to friends with pre-schoolers who might like to come along and hear Lucy read some stories,  play the ukulele and sing some beautiful opera* songs! 

(*lying about the opera - the rest is true though!)

Enviroschools Day

We took a group of students to the Enviroschools Day at Owhiro Bay School this week! It was a great opportunity to connect with our local schools and the environment.

Donations for the Salvation Army

Please keep the personal care items such as deodorant, soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors and toothbrushes coming to school.  The wheelie bin is in the office for the donations.
