He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles

Ridgway Reboot

This is coming your way on Sunday!  Come along if you don’t have a stall (and definitely come along if you do)!  Grab yourself a bargain or an appropriately priced gem, have a sausage and enjoy chatting with your mates on what is guaranteed (*cough cough*) to be a beautiful sunny and windfree day!

The Reboot runs from 11 - 2pm and it would be great to see you there! We have sold over 70 stalls so there should be something for everyone!

Any questions on the day, direct them to one of our volunteers in a hi-vis vest.

Thanks to Coffee Supreme for donating beans to our coffee stand! Please bring a keep cup with you to help reduce cup waste.

Also, bring cash! We won’t have eftpos so will just be taking cash and bank transfers.

Futsal has reached its natural conclusion

‘Twas a short season this term, with only 6 weeks of games at times of varying annoyance.  Always good to get out there though so massive thank you to the coaches, managers, parent wranglers and those who transported the kiddies there!  See ya next year futsal!

Brooklyn Twilight Festival

Thanks to those kapa haka performers who came and did an awesome job of opening the Brooklyn Twilight Festival last weekend. One of the organisers said it wouldn’t be the festival without the Ridgway Kapa Haka crew opening it, so fantastic work everyone! It’s so great to have opportunities like this to showcase our school and the cool stuff we do.

Interzones Athletics

There is always some fierce competition at the Interzone level. We had 12 athletes compete this week and they all did us proud.  Well done everyone who competed for making it that far!  Extra congratulations to Leila in Year 5 who is going on to represent our school in quoits at the regional competition in Masteron next Tuesday. Thanks to the parents who transported the athletes back and forth.

Bike Monitor Trip

Another roaring success, organised by the wonderful Daniel Crow to celebrate and thank the hard working Bike Monitors of 2025.  Thanks to the parents who came along to make the day the success it was and the monitors who manned the BBQ for the riders when they returned.

Kinetic Sand containing asbestos

You may have heard that some kinetic sand contains asbestos and schools who have it have had to close until it’s disposed of. We don’t have any at school so it's not a problem for us.

Children’s Bookshop Event

Just a reminder about this! We are running a fundraiser through the Children’s Bookshop in Kilbirnie the week of November 24-30. 10% of anything you buy goes towards our school library. Just mention Ridgway School when purchasing either online or in person at the Children's Bookshop during that week. Grandparents and others are welcome to do so too, so please spread the word if you have a book-buyer in your family. The Children's Bookshop is running an evening event for us Thursday 27th November from 7:30pm to 9pm, so come along for wine, nibbles, and chats with other Ridgway parents while you  pick up a few books on Santa's behalf.
