Bonjour à toutes nos familles
Crazy Hair Day
Things are looking wild and wooly here today! It’s always a good day when teachers look like this and people have donuts in their hair! Shout out to the parents who got amongst it too. Hopefully the text reminder didn’t send too many of you into a last minute panic, but rather added a bit of fun and tolerable chaos to your Friday morning.

Ridgway Reboot
Make sure to sign up for the sale of the century!
We would absolutely love it if every family was able to have a stall, or on-sell a stall to the neighbour who has amazing taste in fashion and buys new things all the time so no doubt has a zillion clothing items to sell and get rich, rich, RICH!
Help us, help you!
Register your interest in a stall here.
Upcoming Strike
The Board has decided to close the school for the confirmed strike next Thursday 23 November. We currently only have two non-NZEI staff members so are unable to safely open that day.
Chess Tournament
Mark, our chess tutor, will be running a chess tournament at school on 4 November. Anyone can enter. Cost is $5 and you can register here.
Ridgway’s Got Talent
Every year we run a delightful wee talent show. Children audition for a spot and we have a mixture of dancers, joke telling, magic tricks, singing and other musical performances. Now would be a good time to get your child working on an item if they like performing. We will run auditions in the week starting 3 November.

Community News
Hi Ridgway School Team,
I work for Leach & Co Limited, a well-established contracting and solid waste company with a site based at the Southern Landfill in Owhiro Bay. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Administrator (15–20 hours per week), and I thought this opportunity might be a great fit for someone in your community—perhaps a parent, caregiver, or friend—who’s looking for a role that offers flexibility and a healthy balance between work and family life.
We’re looking for a down-to-earth candidate with previous administrative experience. The position is currently advertised on Seek, and we’d be grateful if you could share it with anyone who might be interested:

Thank you so much for helping us spread the word.
Cheers
Marise
