Tournament of Minds

We entered two teams in the Tournament of Minds last weekend. This is a fantastic opportunity for our Year 7 & 8s to take part in a programme that challenges them to collaboratively solve open ended problems over a number of weeks, and then present to a panel of judges. 

Teams work in one of four areas - STEM, The Arts, Language Literature or Social Sciences and they develop and present a creative solution to a challenge.  Both teams chose Social Sciences this year. The students said it was fun and challenging, and they showed great teamwork, creativity, and confidence. We are really proud of their effort and energy!

A library for our school

Plans are underway and have been approved by the Board for a new library space to be created in Tawa.  We are really excited to be getting a library back as we haven’t had one since we were in our old building!  It will be up and running by the start of the 2026 school year and the children can look forward to a lovely space to explore books and enjoy the world of reading.
