He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
Bonjour à toutes nos familles
Ridgway Reboot
Thanks so much to our tireless volunteers who made this event such a success. We will definitely repeat this, but the jury is out on whether it’s going to be an annual or biannual event! Also thanks to all the parents and friends who had a stall and put in the effort to get amongst. The event had such a great vibe with all the people there. Aaaaaand a huge thank you to those wonderful families who have donated money raised at the Reboot to our school. It is genuinely heartwarming to be part of such a cool community!
Next week we will be able to let you know how much we raised and how many new books we can buy for the library. Remember if you buy something from the Children's Bookshop and put Ridgway in the notes (or tell them in the shop) 10% will come to us so we can buy even more books.
Year 8 Leavers’ Celebration
We had a wonderful celebration last night for our Year 8 leavers with Harriette resplendent in her jaguar kaftan. We’d like to congratulate all of our wonderful Year 8s on their successful Ridgway journey. Ki te hoe! The award winners were:
Aroha award: Mileena and Spencer
Sports award: Victor and Mia
Arts award: Aviry
Tatariki: Makiha
Contributions Award: Florence
Outstanding: James
Chess: Zerah
Transitions for next year
Due to changing numbers around the school, there is a bit of movement around the place next year.
The Year 7 & 8s will move downstairs to the space that Tui are currently in and Tūī will move upstairs to the space that the Year 7 & 8s are in. Everything else stays the same.
Kōtare teachers Year 0-2: Pearl, Nicole Lim
Tūī teachers Year 3-4: Jasmin and Danny (and Martin on Thursday and Friday)
Kererū teachers Year 5-6: James and Derek
Kākā teachers Year 7-8: Harriette and Julie
Ruru: Felicity, Estelle and Thibault
Katie and Lucy will continue to provide release for teachers around the school. Nathan will be in Kōtare and Kererū.
In Week 10 children who are moving around the school will be able to spend some time in their new spaces and getting to know their new teachers.
Rascals in the school holidays
We will be running our holiday programme on 18, 19, 22 and 23rd December. This will be the last day for the year. We are restarting it on 19 January and it will run until the first day of school which is 4th February.
Change to our student management system
Next year, we are moving to Hero. This will mean we will have a different app and a different way of reporting. If there is anything you want to save from Spotlight (where reports have previously shown up) you may want to do so now as we will be losing access to it on the last day of the term. Next year, before the start of the term, we will be sending out instructions for how to get the app.
