Matariki Celebration last night

Thanks everyone for coming along last night and celebrating with us. Matariki feels pretty special as it’s the only celebration in New Zealand that feels like it is about us and at the right time of year! It’s a time of connection and it was lovely connecting with our school community last night.

Thanks to all those who helped with the food and the clean up - it’s a bit of a mission!  Apologies for the gigantic queue, we still haven’t nailed the queue situation. Also, if you missed out on a vegetarian sausage, we did buy enough to feed those who filled out the form plus a few extras , but lesson learned for next year to buy waaaaay more (as Matariki is a time of reflection)!

PB4L Reward - Penthouse trip

Just a reminder, if you don’t want your child going to the movies on Tuesday, please let their teacher know so they can stay at school. The movies are Elio and How to Train Your Dragon

Chess Tournament

Four of our keen chess players went to an inter-school intermediate chess tournament yesterday. They came tenth out of 23 teams!  Apparently they were only one win and one draw away from the top team. Epic result for our chess-letes, especially with two of them being Year 5s and playing up to the intermediate level. Congratulations Finn, Zerah, Eloi and Lucas H! Also, thanks Pierre for taking them out there and hanging out while they competed.

Swimming next term for Year 1 - 5s

This starts in the second week of the term, on Tuesday 22 July.  We are always after help for the little ones with getting changed and helping out down at the pool so get in touch with your child’s teacher if you’re able to help.
