Keeping away those winter bugs

Kathryn is making a guest appearance in this week’s news and has written a blog about all those nasty winter bugs, which we hope we’re at the end of with the arrival of Spring today.

Yummy Stickers

Please ask your child to hand these into the office by 22 September. They get counted and sent off to Yummy Stickers and we receive free sports gear!

Lucky Book Orders

Scholastic Issue 6 Loop orders will close on Tuesday 5th September. All orders need to be made online through Scholastic’s website

Inspire Photography

A few years ago we changed the photography company we use for school photos. We are looking for feedback on the cost, quality etc of Inspire as we look to book them again for next year.  If you care about this and want to share your opinion, flick Sarah (sarah@ridgway.school.nz).

Tournament of Minds

We have two Year 7 & 8 teams entered in this competition, happening tomorrow at Victoria University. Tournament of Minds is a competition focusing on collaborative problem solving and critical thinking where children work as a team to solve complex challenges and then present them in an interesting way to a panel of judges. If you’re around university tomorrow you can go and watch our teams! Ridgway Team Stolen (presenting an immersive art experience based on the work of Banksy) are presenting at 11.30 and Ridgway Team Bird (presenting a new species of bird that can fly by itself) are presenting at 12.

Futsal Competition

Another shout out for potential Futsal-ers for the Term 4 competition on Monday afternoons at Ākau Tangi, Kilbirnie.  We need a couple more Year 1/2 players and there is space at all the year levels. Experience not necessary! Send sarah@ridgway.school.nz an email if your child is keen.
