Matariki celebration

What a night!  It was so great to have so many of our whānau attend last night.  Thanks to all the BBQing parents who stood out in the cold, huddled around the kai cooker like it was a flaming trolley on Skid Row, trying to keep warm while buttering bread and cooking 300 sausages for the masses.  We love how our Tawatawa - Ridgway parents just roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. Also thanks to those who helped with serving out the food and dishes afterwards! It meant everyone could get home earlier than they dared dream and watch the football game. We are very grateful to be able to come together as a community after a few years of weird online stuff and cancelling events.

Argh! Holes!

If you come up here at the weekend please remind your children to stay out of the (fenced off) slide construction zone. There are some deep holes that have yet to be filled in and they don’t want to be filled by your child.

Host a home-stay

Are there any families out there that would be willing to host Harmonie, an intern from New Caledonia who will be joining us in Term 4. She speaks French and is coming to New Zealand to improve her English, as well as to join the office and gain some administration experience. Email the office if you’re interested.

Artsplash

This term, our Year 5 - 8s will be taking part in Artsplash. Artsplash is a young people’s arts festival that brings together primary and intermediate schools throughout Wellington to celebrate music and the arts. Tamariki will be learning a variety of songs at school and then will get together with children from other schools and perform these for their parents, whānau, friends and the public. Tickets become available closer to the time and we will keep you posted about this.
