Bonjour à toutes nos familles

Noho marae - kaikōrero and karanga

Our Year 4 - 6s have their noho marae next week. We are looking for someone to kaikōrero on our behalf and also someone to karanga.  Following Te Ati Awa protocol, the kaikōrero must be done by a man and the karanga by a woman.  This is on Tuesday at midday at Pipitea Marae so if you work in town you could always pop out and back to work in your lunch break. Please let sarah@ridgway.school.nz know if you are able to help us out.

Market Day Tuesday afternoon until 4pm

This is coming up on Tuesday 27th. Please come and join us after school!  There will be lots of food, goods and games and any profits go towards our kapa haka uniforms. Tamariki have been busy getting inventive and prepared for this auspicious event.  We will be using a ticket system for the purchasing of stuff and things at the Market Day.  The tickets can be purchased from the office next week from Monday.  One ticket is $1.

Kai and Waiata Night

Just a quick reminder about this! On Wednesday the 21st of June from 5:30pm-7pm we are hosting a Kai and Waiata Night for whānau and tamariki. We will also be showing the new Kapa Haka uniform design and discussing the upcoming Matariki celebration in term 3. The songs will be up on the screen so you can sing along.  Bring a plate (of food) to share.

Learning Conferences

These conferences are coming up at the end of the term. Loads of you have booked in already but here is the link to book (code 4k4e2) if you haven’t got around to it yet. Your child is welcome to attend also, but we are leaving this up to you.

Ponchos

Poncho order form again if you missed it last time! (Side note: poncho is a really strange word and if you look at it too much, it doesn’t seem real). Please fill out the form before the end of this term.
