Bonjour à toutes nos familles

School Picnic

Despite the unpredictability of the weather, we went ahead with our picnic at school on Tuesday. Luckily, it ended up being awesome! We had tug of war, kite flying, cricket, football, T-Ball, Twister and juicies for all.  The rain held off for the actual picnic and it was such a great PB4L reward. The next rewards on offer that the children can vote for with their R Cards are a movie or STEM afternoon.

World Maths Day - top in New Zealand!

A big congratulations to Kieran Wells for achieving top Year 7 scorer in New Zealand on World Maths Day on 23 March!  A fabulous achievement!

COVID Health and Safety Procedures

In light of changes to the Covid Protection Framework (traffic light) settings, the Board are currently reviewing our COVID Health and Safety procedures for Term 2 and we will notify you about any changes before the start of next term.

We feel strongly that we should continue to wear masks in classrooms for children and staff until there isn’t high community transmission in the Wellington region.  So far, only a small number of our children have had COVID and looking at schools around the country we can expect that this number will increase. In order to maintain teaching and learning, we need to maintain mask use.

If you would like to share your views or concerns so that these can be considered, please email Kathryn (principal@ridgway.school.nz).
