Term 4, Week 8, 2019 (5 December 2019)

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - warm greetings to all!

School Production - Tuesday 10 December - 6pm start

We would like to welcome all families to come to our school production 'Ridgway: This Is Us'. The show starts at 6pm and children performing need to be there by 5.30. This is in the Riley Centre at Wellington High School. Please be aware that from Monday, Wallace Street will be shut so it may take longer to get there than usual or you may need to use an alternate route (Map of Road Closure).

Teachers and children have been working very hard this term to prepare for this production. Being part of a show like this helps children to develop resilience as it can be scary being up on stage in front of hundreds of people. It also helps them to be resourceful as they are developing performance skills and confidence. While these things are hard to measure they are invaluable to growing our children's self-esteem.

We have tried hard to keep the cost of the production low but there always is a cost! We are using microphones for our main actors, hiring the venue, using WHS students as sound and lighting technicians and busing our whole school there and back during the day on Tuesday for a practice. As we don't sell tickets to the production, we are requesting that parents contribute a koha or voluntary donation of $5 per adult attending the production to help us cover this cost. This can be paid at the door, at the office or online.

Thank you for supporting the work of our school. Without your financial contributions it would not be possible to put on a show like this. We hope you enjoy the show!
