He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - warm greetings to all!

Health Consultation Evening - 5 November

Come along to our Health Consultation evening between 7 and 8pm to learn more about our Health Curriculum. We do ask that you please leave your children at home for this, as the content isn't always appropriate for all ages.

Pūkana Whānau Day - 9th November

Our kapa haka group has been invited to perform at the National Library at the Pūkana Whānau Day on Saturday 9th November from 11.30am. Children can perform in kapa haka and then stay to enjoy the rest of the performances and activities. Here is some general information about this event.

Bring the whānau down to the National Library to explore our new exhibition 'Pūkana: Moments in Māori Performance'.

We've got a great line-up of performances and activities including: kapa haka with Ngā Taiohi o Te Rāwhiti o Te Ūpoko o Te Ika and Ridgway School, taonga pūoro with Ariana Tikao and Al Fraser, harakeke weaving, storytelling in te reo with Watene Kaihau, and many more. Performances will be starting at 10.15am.

Activity stations will be available for tamariki of all ages to learn how to make poi and create their own koauau (a small flute) and porotiti (disk shaped instrument) to take home.

In the viewing room a selection of audio and visual treasures will take you on a journey through time, from Tina Cross winning the Pacific Song Quest in 1979 to Alien Weaponry taking on the world in 2018.

Complete the quiz on Māori performance and win a prize!

Pūkana Whānau Day will have something for everyone.

The summer reading challenge is back!

Research clearly shows that reading over the summer holidays helps to prevent 'summer learning loss'. Plus summer is the perfect time to relax in the sun with a good story! We are excited to announce that the Summer Reading Challenge is back. Our students will be able to borrow books from our library to read over the summer AND they will also have full access to our growing e-collection. This challenge is open to all returning students, and is customised to ensure it is achievable and fun for all ages...and there will be incentives and prizes.

You can sign-up at the Scholastic Book Fair (21 Nov to 25 Nov) or here.
