Meetings

Staff meet together regularly to engage in professional learning and development, to plan and improvements our curriculum delivery, and to inform each other about organisational and administrative matters.

There will usually be 3 meetings each week;

  1. Team Meeting

  2. Staff Meeting

  3. Administration Meeting

Team meeting

Regular team meetings provide teachers with the time and frameworks to work efficiently, effectively, and collaboratively. These ‘face to face’ meetings allow teachers to build positive working relationships with their colleagues where teachers can learn from each other and draw on each others’ strengths and expertise.

  • Monday 3.15 - 5pm (at the latest)*

  • all teachers must be available to attend for the full time

  • Agenda & minutes are kept and shared in the form of a Google doc with all team members and the principal

  • Standard agenda is set by the Senior Leadership Team and provides guidelines for what should be covered during most meetings.  It includes

    • Report on student behaviour (using teachers’ records of minors and majors from eTAP) and explanation about what is being done to support them.

    • Report on student learning progress  (assessments reported follow school schedule, but may also include teacher set assessment information)

  • moderation of student work

  • planning for student learning

*It is likely that teams or groups of teachers may also need to meet at other times (either occasionally or regualarly)  to engage in planning or other professional tasks.  These meetings should be held at times agreeable to all team members, and should usually take place on weekdays after school.

Staff meeting

Staff meetings provide the whole staff with opportunities to work and learn together, sharing their knowledge and expertise.  Staff meetings will focus on the learning needs of teachers, and will provide them with opportunities to examine and improve their own practice.

  • Wednesday 3.15 - 4.30pm

  • all teachers are expected to attend for the full time

  • meetings will be held in different classrooms each week

  • Topics and preparation required will be recorded in the Teacher’s Diary

  • A standard format will usually be followed enabling any person, but most likely one of the Senior Leadership Team, to run the meeting.

    • karakia

    • teacher’s moment (a teacher will share a recent positive experience, achievement or knowledge AND a ‘problem of practice’ which they would like the rest of the staff to support them with).

    • PB4L hotspot

    • focus on developing practice

Admin meeting

Admin meetings are quick meetings to pass on information and ask questions.  At these meetings staff will deal with whole school organisational matters as they become relevant (e.g. conduct or report on surveys, organisation for athletics day, feedback from BOT meetings, …)

  • Friday 8am - 8.15am  (or shorter if no items require discussion)

  • Agenda can be added to by any staff member

  • Items not on the agenda may not be raised during the meeting

  • Teachers should aim to inform others by including full details in the Admin Doc
