Tēnā koutou katoa

I am pleased to update you that Designgroup Stapleton Elliot (DGSE) have been appointed to do the architectural design and planning for our new school buildings and refurbishment of A block. DGSE have many years experience in educational design and planning and have recently completed a major rebuild at Kelburn Normal School. The design process will take several months, and both the board and the architects wish to involve our parents, staff and children in this journey.

The first opportunity to meet the architects, ask questions, and provide your views directly will be next week. We will hold the following three sessions:

1. Tuesday 20th November 6.30-7.30pm for parents of children in years 0-3
2. Tuesday 27th November 6.30-7.30pm for parents of children in years 4-8.
3: Wednesday 28th November 5.30-6.30pm for the Whānau Hui parents group - note that anyone can attend this meeting and everyone is welcome. There will be a focus on thinking about the buildings from a Māori perspective.

If you have children in both junior and senior then you are welcome at either. It would be preferred if children don't come along to these sessions if possible.

This initial consultation will help the architects as they put pencil to paper and begin the first phase of "Master Planning" for our new school. Once they have done this master planning there will be an opportunity for everyone to see the designs and provide further input. Given the rapidly approaching summer break, this next session will happen in the New Year.

I hope many of you can make it.
Ngā mihi,
Rachel
