Our curriculum
The New Zealand curriculum was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2007, following an extensive consultation exercise with teachers, students, parents and other groups. It is intended to set the direction for teaching and learning into the 21st century.
At Ridgway School we have developed and customised the national curriculum to meet the needs of our local community. This process has been happening over the last two years, and a series of consultation evenings with parents were held during 2010. Click here to see the current version of the Ridgway curriculum for yourself (PDF). Note that it is a living document and will be constantly revised and updated to meet our changing needs.
See the A-Z directory to view our homework policy.
From time to time, information evenings for parents about our teaching programme are held. In 2010, these included the ‘Bangers and Maths’ evening. Keep an eye on the weekly newsletter for advance warning about these evenings.
